Representation in modeling

For many years, the modeling industry has been dominated by a narrow standard of beauty that primarily caters to a Eurocentric ideal. This lack of representation has left many individuals feeling excluded and marginalized. However, in recent years, there has been a significant shift towards inclusivity and diversity in the modeling industry. Brands are now recognizing the importance of showcasing a variety of body types, ethnicities, genders, and abilities. This change is not only beneficial for the models themselves, but also for consumers who are looking to see themselves represented in the media they consume.

Representation in modeling is important because it helps to challenge societal beauty standards and promote body positivity. When individuals see models who look like them, it can help to boost their self-esteem and confidence. It sends the message that beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors. It is crucial for breaking down stereotypes and promoting inclusivity. By featuring models from different backgrounds, the industry can help to challenge preconceived notions and promote a more accepting and understanding society. It allows for a greater understanding and appreciation of different cultures and experiences.

How to embrace authenticity and self-love

Madeline and Chlose discuss the pressure they felt to conform to certain gender roles and expectations, and how this led to feelings of depression, anxiety, and a lack of self-understanding. They highlight the importance of breaking free from these constraints and allowing oneself to fully embody their authentic self.

There are challenges in letting go of the need to please others and the fear of judgment. There’s power in saying no and setting boundaries, particularly in relationships with others. By reclaiming your voice and asserting your needs, you can find a sense of empowerment and self-assuredness. There’s freedom and joy that comes from living authentically and unapologetically. Madeline and Chloe challenge societal expectations and norms, advocating for a more inclusive and accepting society where individuals can be their true selves without fear of judgment or rejection.

Addiction and self-acceptance

The conversation takes a deeper turn as Madeline and Chloe discuss their experiences with addiction. They reveal that they both went through addiction journeys simultaneously and have since engaged in healing work to understand the root causes of their addictions. Addiction can be a means of numbing yourself and denying a significant part of who you are. By repressing your true identity, you are unable to fully embrace your authentic self, leading to severe addiction.

Understanding the underlying causes of your addiction is crucial in your recovery. It involves accepting your true identity and not conforming to societal expectations. For Madeline and Chloe their addictions stemmed from a desire to fit in and be accepted by others. This realization allowed them to begin the healing process and address the root causes of their addictions.

Motherhood as a single mom

Madeline and Chloe, both single mothers themselves, discuss the challenges they face in raising their children and the personal growth they have experienced through the journey of motherhood. Being a single mother requires a lot of strength, as you are  solely responsible for your child's well-being. When people ask Chloe how she manages to do it all, she sees no other option but to keep going and fulfill her responsibilities. Motherhood instills resilience and determination in individuals.

Chloe discusses how being a mother has taught her grace and empathy towards others. She recognizes that everyone starts off as someone's child, and this realization has given her a deeper understanding and compassion for people. She mentions that even though some people may be difficult or unpleasant, she has learned to approach them with tenderness and an open mind. This shift in perspective has allowed her to let go of her own hardness and embrace a softer, more compassionate side of herself.
